The whole hubbub seems to play on the fact that because her underwear matched her skin tone, it appeared she was flashing too much flesh. However, I suspect no one would have blinked if a light-skinned person was wearing a flesh-tone short pant.

I think it caught people by surprise that you can get flesh-toned gear for dark skinned people too. My other suspicion is that it’s the salacious content of the commentators’ minds that might be an issue!

In fact, I was tickled pink (or perhaps light ivory) that there is a company that is catering to the desire of all folks of all skin colors to have flesh-toned skivvies. After all, that vapid color called “nude” is not nude for everyone.

All these mini collections are design rich and dependent on interesting details. The Milla collection involves strategic cut outs on the bra cups and a very futuristic feel. The Natalie collection contains more classic pieces that have an edgy feel.

While all the mini collections clearly belong to the same 2010 campaign, carrying a theme that focuses intensely on the female form, they each have their own unique take on that theme.

My personal favorite is the Jemima collection. The use of sheer and opaque fabrics in each piece really lends interest and intrigue. Unfortunately, for most North Americans, the selection of the name “Jemima” is an unfortunate one, as it conjures up the image of “Aunt Jemima” and her pancake syrups. However, be assured that this collection is not something that you’d see on Aunt Jemima!
