Taking Molded Cup Bras On Vacation

I’m off to the sun and the sand courtesy of a lovely Caribbean island. Consider me to be afk (away from keyboard) until March 17th, when I’ll be back to talk about green bras.

Seriously.

Well, maybe not seriously, But there are virtues to color in your lingerie, and why not pick St Patrick’s Day to talk about it?

In the meantime, I’m going to figure out how easy it is to travel with molded cup bras. I happen to love them, both for comfort and support, but I’m worried that they won’t travel nicely. After all, you aren’t supposed to fold one cup into the other (although even the sales woman at my local lingerie store did that), and you definitely aren’t supposed to pack them flat.

What’s a woman to do?

Well, one intrepid lingerie writer said to pack socks inside the cups. That would be fine except I’m going to a hot place – and I’m NOT packing socks. With that in mind, I’m thinking that panties will do as good a job as socks. For that matter, we are taking our 3 year old daughter and 8 year old son with us – maybe I’ll borrow a few small size t-shirts and pack them in there.

I still don’t quite know how you fill in your suitcase around the bra, once you’ve established that it is going to create two mounds in the middle somewhere – but I’m sure I’ll come up with something.

We often encourage our readers to change their bras every day. It helps to allow the fabric to return to its natural shape and allows the fibers to recover. When you are on vacation, you don’t want to have to pack a bra for every day you’ll be away – most of us prefer to pack light. If this is the case, you might want to wash a bra (or two) while you are gone. After all, your bras still need care. Here’s a tip for packing light: shampoo will double as a gentle lingerie wash in a pinch. Wash your bras in your hotel room and hang in the bathroom to dry.

Then again, if you are going to the Caribbean, why not spend every day in your bathing suit? Your bra will have all the rest it needs.
