Insulated Bras

Another way to keep your girls warm

I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking that winter has gone on entirely too long this year. Perhaps that’s because I’ve had someone ill in my family every week since the first week of November. As a result, I’ve been cooped up inside, unable to take advantage of outdoor activities.
CW-X's Insulator Sports Bra
If you are enjoying winter and those cold weather sports, here’s something that you should know about: insulated bras. (No, I’m not joking.) I was asked by a male friend just this past fall if there was such a thing as an insulated bra. I said, “Not that I know of.” He said, “That’s strange.” His reasoning was that there is insulated long underwear – why wouldn’t there be an insulated bra? After all, a woman doesn’t just want to keep her bottom half warm.

Long underwear for women has been around for a long time. We’ve also been able to get an insulated tank or t-shirt, just like our male counterparts. But it always meant wearing a bra underneath it, especially if you wanted that extra support for your breasts. Why not skip the extra piece of clothing and get a bra that does double duty?

Well, leave it to a man to show me up. You can, in fact, get an insulated bra!

I found just such a garment on the Team Estrogen website. It’s the Insulator Support Top by CW-X.

CW-X is a manufacturer of high performance sports gear for both men and women. Think of this as a sports bra with benefits – the benefits being that you keep the rest of your torso dry and warm at the same time that you provide sports-level support for your breasts.

Then there is the Warm Biz Bra by Triumph. This bra is made of fuzzy material – I kid you not – and has microwaveable inserts that create especially cozy cleavage. It also has extra long straps with ends that can be used as a scarf.

This bra was part of a campaign in Japan to help conserve energy. I guess if you can keep your breasts warm, you can turn the thermostat down.

I can’t find it anywhere. I wanted to buy one! I guess it was ahead of its time.
