Enamore Lingerie

I’ve stumbled across another new designer label, out of the UK. The company is called Enamore and the current collection is the result of a collaboration between Enamore and designer Ayten Gasson.

For discerning consumers, the collection is entirely hand-made in England. The materials are hemp blended with silk and cotton. Vintage prints are the focus.

With vintage prints, you might expect vintage shapes - and you’d be right. Thank goodness that there’s not a thong in sight! Instead, you’ll find lovely knickers and shorts designed with both sensuality and comfort.

As an interesting aside, both Ayten Gasson and Jenny McPherson of Enamore got their business start through the Prince’s Trust. Enamore also was the recipient of monies from the Fredericks Foundation. Here’s hoping that this lovely collection helps this joint venture to reach their potential.

This first joint collaboration features very traditional colors: cream, black, and coffee cream. In addition, some floral vintage prints are shown in blue and white, coffee, cream and yellow with complimentary detailing. There is some accommodation of traditional shapes and styles to modern fashion: for instance, in addition to side tie knickers and French knickers, the collection features low rise knickers. Bras are not built for the most busty customers: band sizes go from 30 to 36. However, there is no cup size to choose from. The bras are unstructured and definitely designed for those with smaller breasts.

One very nice aspect of the lingerie (and perhaps one of the reasons why they have been the recipient of money from the Prince’s Trust) is that the website describes the items as “Sustainably Georgeous”. Hemp is a very environmentally-friendly material. However, I don’t think most environmentally-friendly lingerie lines have conceived of hemp like this: as a soft and sensual fabric meant to entice as much as save the earth.
