Bra Tests May Bring Relief

SYDNEY – A new study by researchers at the University of Wollongong may help bra designers develop sports bras that eliminate breast pain during exercise. The study team used a new form of “intelligent” fabric sensors in their tests to detect where stress was occurring in the bras during a gym workout. Their study, published in the Journal of Biomechanics, found that wearing a poorly-fitting bra raises the risk of long-term injury. That conclusion supports another recent study out of Portsmouth University that showed up to 60 per cent of women suffered breast pain during exercise.
